    Default Help Please

I am having problems with trojans. I have tried to remove these myself, using Spybot, Ad-Aware, HJT, CA antivirus, and Trend Micro's housecall online virus scan. I hope I have not made fixing the problem harder. Here is my current HJT log. I hope someone can help.

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
Help Please and I am having problems with trojans.
You know, you are not providing a lot of information for me to base decisions concerning your computer on? Please take a few minutes to read the directions, then post information about the symptoms, what program is finding what, something for me to go on.
    This is my only clue: O20 - AppInit_DLLs: yuzxki.dll

If you are receiving any error messages, post those also "word for word".

    Default More Information

Sorry for the lack of details. Still do not know exactly what info you need, but I am getting reports from Spybot and CA antivirus of the following infections; Virtumonde, Vundo, Darksma, and SmitFraud. My security center reports that auto updates is turned off. (auto updates is set to notify) I get pop ups, fake alerts, and more. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Thanks Paul, sounds like you may have multiple infections, let's start by searching a little.

    1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
    * Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
    * If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
    * On the left hand side, Click on Tools
    * Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
    * Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
    * Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

    2) C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe <<< rename HJT.exe, call it gravpar.exe that will work. Hackers hide their junk from HJT and after a restart we may be able to see the infection.

    3) http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< download Smitfraudfix from here and follow ONLY these directions.

    Search:
    Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
    http://www.beyondlogic.org/consultin...rocessutil.htm

Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log.

    Thanks

Thanks for returning your information, you have a nasty one:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tdssservers.dat detected, use a Rootkit scanner

You can also see the Vundo infection in the HJT log now. I believe combofix will go after them both.

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

    Tutorial
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.

Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop.

Download ComboFix from Here to your Desktop
    • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.

    Thanks

It will be AM EST before I respond again.

Thanks for returning your information, continue to read and proceed carefully and in the numbered order.

    1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

    2) Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the codebox below into it:

    Code:
    File::
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\lksoyo.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vlciidky.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\oyeujlhp.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ykdiiclv.ini
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\tdalxxmb.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\tmp.reg
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\yuzxki.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\yrpcqfav.dll

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
    "AppInit_DLLs"=-

    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{2836ad34-373f-4584-9406-4ef7dc3bd685}]
    Save this as CFScript

Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot), post the contents of Combofix.txt in your next reply together with a new HijackThis log. (wait until you finish to post the logs)

    3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(some items may be gone, removed by CFScript)

    O2 - BHO: {586db3cd-7fe4-6049-4854-f37343da6382} - {2836ad34-373f-4584-9406-4ef7dc3bd685} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\lksoyo.dll
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [743c197d] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\vlciidky.dll",b
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BM770f2ae1] Rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\system32\oyeujlhp.dll",s
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: lksoyo.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    4) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

*Cleaning Prefetch may results in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:
    http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...efetch-XP.html

    5) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
    http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    * When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
    * Please post the log from CFScript, the log from MBAM and a new HJT log.

    How is the computer running?

    Thanks...Phil

    Default Seems to be better

The computer seems to be running better. It is disconnected from the internet (I connected long enough to download combofix and to update Malwarebytes), so I can't say about popups and such, but the security center error is gone.

    Here are the new logs

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. Paul, everything looks good from here, keep an eye out for any malware issues as we proceed.

Remove combofix from the computer like this:

    Click START then RUN
Now type or copy Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK.
Note the space between the X and the U, it needs to be there.

Clean System Restore files like this:

    Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

    Reboot

    Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Update MBAM and scan to be sure we missed none of the junk, no need to post a clean scan result.

Update CA and scan the system to be sure it is working right and scanning clean. If you have any issues with the program, you'll want to contact tech support for instructions.

If all is well at this point, let me know and I will close your topic.
