1.5.2 slowdown after updates
Hi! I've had spybot for years & have had very few problems. I'm currently running version 1.5.2 & want to keep it for now 'cause it works good. Last fri I installed the updates for 11/5/08. My scanning time went from 57 mins to 1 hour 53 mins. Do you have any idea what caused this & is there anything that will fix it? Thank you very much for your help.

I suggest that you try Spybot 1.6 and see if that scan time improves.

I mentioned that i would like to keep using the 1.5 version. do you know if it is the 11/05 updates that are causing the slow scanning? if it is, is there anything else i can do other than go with 1.6?

Scan count: 246131
Elapsed time: 21:28
Updates: 2008-11-05
Scan count: 296518
Elapsed time: 24:28
Although the scan count increased by 20% the elapsed time of the scan only increased by 14%.
