    Default Spybot Detections

    Hi,

I have a Windows Computer that I'm working on (not the one I'm currently on) and it won't connect to the Internet. I downloaded the latest detections,to a flash drive and there are only 58,000.. however, on a computer I had it on previous computer, there were 200,000... anyplace to get the whole deal?

    Thanks

    brstorrie:

Go to the following Web page:

    Download the following item (spybotsd_includes.exe):
    • Detection updates© 2008-11-19 - product description
      md5: BD538FA2C58FB283856E9B5FD6FA16DB

This updates the detection rules. Only needed if you do not want to use the update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.

Execute spybotsd_includes.exe on the non-internet connected system to update the detection rules.

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition running on a 2.40GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with 512 MB of RAM and a 533 MHz System Bus.

That's what I did, twice, and there are still only 58,000

    brstorrie:

Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced mode > Settings > File Sets. Make sure that everything is checked except the last two items which are for usage tracking. To do that easily, right click on the file sets list and select "Spyware check only".
