Aggressive Advertising aimed at fooling the user, to make him buy the product.

Advertising implies, that the users computer is beeing scanned and threats are beeing found.

Software itself does not appear to be aimed at finding Spyware, instead it shows that the computer has no Spywareprotection, the basis for this "warning" is not known, since active Antispyware-Software was running during
testing. The warning is hyperlinked to the software websites billing form.

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Shortcuts that point to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiSpyware 2005\was5.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "WinAntiSpyware 2005" and pointing to "?<$PROGRAMFILES>\WinAntiSpyware 2005\was5.exe*".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "WAS5_is1".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

  • Delete the registry key "CheckProduct2.DLL" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • Delete the registry key "MonitorAgents.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "CheckProduct2.CheckProduct", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "CheckProduct2.CheckProduct.1", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{8576DE55-EDED-4675-AF10-BA15EDDB4D7A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{D4C0649B-B980-44A5-B259-9B09EBEA6331}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{E69F0D6A-1C69-4A04-8709-5EAC2019D9BE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "ExplorerWinAS" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\".
  • Delete the registry key "ExplorerWinAS" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\".
  • Delete the registry key "{2DE308A0-A884-4CA6-B739-CEDB12FEF096}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "MonitorAgents.WAShellExecuteCheck", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "MonitorAgents.WAShellExecuteCheck.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "shellext.ShellHook", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "shellext.ShellHook.1", plus associated values.
