Hey all, new here but looks like you guys are doing some great work for us computer malcontents out here..... thanks alot! I got the Virtumonde, smithfraud, and cadmon?? eadmon? or something akin to that on my laptop and it continually loaded mozilla webpages like crazy. Ran both Spybot and super antispyware and it is working much better now... but i am sure that it is still lurking inside here....somewhere, somehow.... anyhow...below is the HJT log as you requested and i tried to put it into 1 line form but not sure it worked...finally, it would not let me re-arm my automatic updates, but now it allowed me once I used the super antispyware program. Lastly, I now have all kinds of spyware programs on my pc and I dont want one to interfere with the other and cause more problems: Adaware, Grisoft AVG, Spybot S/D, Super Antispyware, CrapCleaner, Tune up Utilities 2008 (trial), Ace Utilities, Registry Mechanic, Scansoft Omni....So that is way tooo much I think!

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) to your desktop:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt

Only 1 thing I noticed :

Also, how do I clean up all these extras (if not clean up, at least use only 1 as the acting antivirus, anti adware, firewall, etc....)? Also, I have the AVG square at bottom right along with the super antispyware bug too. That was just an FYI.

you only need one anti-virus, which you have, (AVG). I see ad aware, spybot, SAS, MBAM, i would keep two of them. personally i would keep MBAM and SAS but its up to you really. others can be removed via add/remove programs panle

some of these are things you can do yourself, like defrag. registry cleaners will not improve a computers performance. see links:

the AVG icon you want to see. that means its running in the background all the time like it should. The SAS bug must be the real time component that runs in the background. You can try to exit/disable this to see if it improves performance. sometimes it can be a drag on system resources.

after you finish uninstalling everything, reboot computer and post a new hjt log please.

Reducing Your Risk:
The Short Version

1) Keep your OS,(Windows) browser (IE, FireFox) and other Software up to date to "patch" possible vulnerabilities.
2) Know what you are installing to your computer. Alot of software can come bundled with unwanted add-ons.
3) Install and keep them all updated: one antivirus and two or three anti-malware applications. If not updated they will soon be worthless.
4) Refrain from clicking on links or attachments you receive via E-Mail, IM, Chat Rooms or Social Sites, no matter how tempting or legitimate the message.
5) Don't click on ads/pop ups or offers from websites requesting that you install software to your computer.
6) Don't click on offers to "scan" your computer.
7) Set up and use limited accounts for everyday use, rather than administrator accounts.
8) Install a third party software firewall.
9) Consider using an alternate browser and E-mail client.
