    Hi

    Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running ComboFix tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

    Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

    The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

    Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

    The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

    Please continue as follows:

    1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
      Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

    2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

    When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

    Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

    C:\ComboFix.txt
    New HijackThis log.

    A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

    IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

    Soulseek
    LimeWire

    I'd like you to read the this thread.

    Please go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the programs listed above (in red).

    Delete these folders afterwards:

    c:\program files\Soulseek
    c:\program files\LimeWire

    Empty Recycle Bin.

    After that:

    Start hjt, do a system scan, check (if found):
    if not set by yourself -> R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = 127.0.0.1

    O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0007-ABCDEFFEDCBA} -
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddcDvtRi - C:\WINDOWS\

    Close browsers and fix checked.

    Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

    Code:
    Folder::
    c:\program files\Soulseek
    c:\program files\LimeWire

    Registry::
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\windows]
    "AppInit_DLLs"=""

    Save this as
    CFScript

    A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.

    Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
    Then post the resultant log.

    Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
    If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
    If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

    Uninstall Java versions below Java 6 Update 11.

    Uninstall old Adobe Reader versions and get the latest one here or get Foxit Reader here.

    Download ATF (Atribune Temp File) Cleaner© by Atribune to your desktop.

    Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe to open it

    Under Main choose:
    Windows Temp
    Current User Temp
    All Users Temp
    Cookies
    Temporary Internet Files
    Prefetch
    Java Cache

    *The other boxes are optional*
    Then click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox:
    Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
    NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

    If you use Opera:
    Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    Click the Empty Selected button.
    NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click NO at the prompt.

    Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

    Please run an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner as instructed in the screenshot here.

    Post back its report, a fresh hjt log and above mentioned ComboFix resultant log.

    Hi

    Show hidden files

    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

    Delete following files:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\493F74A6.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Shared\only one lionel richie.mp3
    C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Shared\thank you tori amos.mp3

    Start hjt, do a system scan, check:
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [updateMgr] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\Reader\AdobeUpdateManager.exe" AcRdB7_0_9 -reboot 1

    Close browsers and fix checked.

    Reboot. Post a fresh hjt log. How's the system running?

    Hi and thanks for all the help. System seems to be running much better now, no more pop ups. Only issue i seem to have left is something seems to have happened to my display drivers (related to virtumonde or not im not sure). Going to try to reinstall them for my nvidia card later. Scrolling though windows is a nightmare as well pages move like a wave across the screen and seem to take forever to load. Other then that it's working great. Here is the new Hjackthis log.

    Hi

    It might be good to defrag your hard drives if not done lately. Badly fragmented drive usually slows system down.

    Fix following entries with hjt too:
    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page =
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =

    Post a fresh hjt log after fixing those and getting the graphics card drivers reinstalled

    system is running great. Thanks so much for the help. It seems the laggy scrolling had something to do with my graphics card. Something to do with the newest driver for it doesn't agree with it so i had to revert it to the older one.

    Here is the new hjt log
