Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first.

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed.

Please continue as follows:

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
   Remember to re-enable them afterwards.
   
   
2. Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you.

Please include the following reports for further review, and so we may continue cleansing the system:

I'm having a problem with disabling my Norton AntiVirus in the fact that according to combofix, I have it running but I can't open it from my start menu and there's no icon showing that it's enabled in my system tray. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I posted this in the bleepingcomputer forum that you linked me to but if you can help me before they do, that would be great. I'll let you know if they help me first though.

Hi

When did you do that? It's strongly not advisable to post multiple forums asking help. In worst case that takes valuable time from several helpers while some users are left without help. I recommend you post there telling that you're already helped.

If you don't have a way to disable Norton then please run ComboFix despite of the warning.
