    Default AVG and Spybot

Hello, I was told that I can have AVG and Spybot installed on the same system as long as I do not run them at the same time. Only problem is that both programs automatically start up when the computer boots... my question is, is it alright to have both of these programs on and in the system tray at the same time? i have been closing Spybot upon bootup and leaving avg to run.. i ran a avg scan in safe mode and it removed a bunch of stuff... then i ran a Spybot check in normal mode and it removed a lot of malware except one.. Lastnight i started getting errors with "explorer.exe" upon shutdown.. and even on bootup i had to run explorer.exe from the cmd line to make it load up the desktop icons.. is it dangerous to leave both in the system tray with no scans operating?

    thank you in advance,
    pete

Where did you hear that? This seems rather odd (the explorer.exe errors) because AVG and Spybot-Search&Destroy can function and co-exist with no problems, whether that is with or without Resident Shields on. What runs during bootup is not Spybot but it's Resident Shield TeaTimer.

Conclusion: Spybot and AVG can start and close together with no problems.
then i ran a Spybot check in normal mode and it removed a lot of malware except one..
What malware is that? Can you produce a log of the scan?
