Exclamation win32.tdss.rtk etc, can not access c, no delete, help please.

    Thanks for your assistance guys.

Ran SB yesterday and it found this win32.tdss malware thing, I then ran avast antivirus and it picked up something hiding in the memory, ran a scan on boot and moved it to the chest, so I thought. I am not able to access the c drive here and there, only way to get in is through search, continuously comes up with c/recycler. 343.3454.numbers etc. .com wont run in win32 mode.

I have read through and applied the first steps in your read first thread, erunt, hjt etc and have removed my p2p clients also, I am now seeking assistance on where to go from here.

    Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Safer Networking.

My name is peku006 and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.
I will be giving you a series of instructions that need to be followed in the order in which I give them to you.

Please observe these rules while we work:
    • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
    • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
    • Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear"

If you follow these instructions, everything should go smoothly.

    1 - Scan With ComboFix

We will begin with ComboFix.exe. Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

    * Ensure you have disabled all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

    How to Temporarily Disable Anti-virus

Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply for further review.

    2 - Run Hijackthis
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad

    3 - Status Check
    Please reply with

    1. the ComboFix log(C:\ComboFix.txt)
    2. a fresh HijackThis log

    Thanks peku006
I don't help with logs thru PM. If you have problems create a thread in the forum, please.

OK, have just ran those scans and while combo fix was doing its things everything in the start up processes decided it would encounter an error and all shut down, dunno if this is normal or not.

    here are the reports.

    Hi swordman99
OK, have just ran those scans and while combo fix was doing its things everything in the start up processes decided it would encounter an error and all shut down, dunno if this is normal or not
it is not normal, do you have any problems now

1 - Remove bad HijackThis entries
    • Run HijackThis
    • Click on the Scan button
    • Put a check beside all of the items listed below (if present):

      • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)

    • Close all open windows and browsers/email, etc...
    • Click on the "Fix Checked" button
    • When completed, close the application.

    2 - Download and Run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    1. Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and save it to a convenient location.
    2. Double click on mbam-setup.exe to install it.
    3. Before clicking the Finish button, make sure that these 2 boxes are checked (ticked):
      • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
        Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    4. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware will now check for updates. If your firewall prompts, please allow it. If you can't update it, select the Update tab. Under Update Mirror, select one of the websites and click on Check for Updates.
    5. Select the Scanner tab. Click on Perform full scan, then click on Scan.
    6. Leave the default options as it is and click on Start Scan.
    7. When done, you will be prompted. Click OK, then click on Show Results.
    8. Checked (ticked) all items except items in the System Volume Information folder and click on Remove Selected.

    9. After it has removed the items, Notepad will open. Please post this log in your next reply. You can also find the log in the Logs tab. The bottom most log is the latest.

    3 - Run Hijackthis
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad

    4 - Status Check
    Please reply with

    1. the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Log
    2. a fresh HijackThis log

    Thanks peku006

No worries, it is running normal now, only while I was doing the scan did that happen. Will be running the scans tonight after work.

    Cheers.
