    Default Error during check !?

    Hello there,

I ran a Spybot Search and Destroy scan and got the following message:

    "Error during check!
    Virtumode.sdn[28109 - $B67DAE58] (Invalid pointer operation)".

with a red cross next to it.

It also said "no immediate threats found".

Do you know why this has happened and if I need to be concerned about this ?

    Many thanks Spybot !

Which version of Spybot-Search&Destroy are you running?

Can you try uninstall Spybot and then perform a reinstallation with a fresh copy from SaferNetworking Servers:

    Sure, no problem and thanks.

Actually before I do, I should have mentioned that since I first posted, I've run a couple of scans since and the error doesn't arise - run clean no problem.

    Sorry about that !

By the way, may I ask, should I be worried about windows processes running ?
i.e. is it possible windows might track me themselves or pass over my information to potential 3rd parties ?

I also got a remnant cookie before from "msnportal"(now removed) - I wonder if this related to my hotmail account.

Should I be possibly concerned about any of this ?
I don't trust anyone these days, especialy governments or privately related institutions.

    Many thanks for your help.

I guess this query is resolved then because you are no longer receiving the problem you originally reported. Have a good day.

    Yes - I think that's a fair assessment.

Suppose I brought up a lot of other issues since the first one, but I guess I'm happy enough that there's nothing to worry about too much(I'll have to hope so anyway)

Thanks for all your help & have a good day too.
