Default Warning! Please select some update files from the list first.

This is the message I took everytime I try to use "Search for update" festure.
What have I to do to be able again to download updates without this warning?

    Tnx

    P.S.
I'm using SpyBot Search & Destroy 1.6.2.46 under Windows Vista Professional x64

A tip from Zenobia should resolve this.
Right click on the Spybot-Search&Destroy desktop icon and click 'Properties'>Compatibility tab then under the list run it as "Windows XP".

    Question

I have this problem with my new 64-bit Windows 7 HP (Dell OEM) machine. Will this bug ever be fixed? March 2009 is a long ago.

    Hello,

It seems to be a problem with the compatibility under Windows Vista/Windows 7.
You can solve the problem as follows:

    1. Download this new SDUpdate.exe.

To use this beta file, extract the downloaded archive into the main application folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\) and replace the old file with the new one.

    2. If this does not help go to your SDUpdate.exe file in your program folder:
    C:\Program Files\ Spybot - Search & Destroy\

Rightclick the file and choose properties.
    Then choose the tab compatibilty.
There activate the checkbox in front of "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select from the drop down menu "WindowsXP". Now click "Apply" and "OK".

    That should fix the problem.

This problem has also been discussed in our forum.

    Best regards

Thanks Sandra, that worked. Will this updated file be released in the next final version?

I really appreciate this workaround! Any updates on Spybot 2.0's release, or even an interim release? 1.6 has been great but it's been awhile...

    Thanks again.

    Hello,

We are sorry, but we do not have a release date for our next version yet - as we are still working on it.
    Please be patient.
To stay up to date you can have a look at our news section on our homepage from time to time.
Or have a look at the beta section in our forum.
Further you will be informed whenever there is a new version out.
We have integrated this function into our current version Spybot - Search & Destroy.
So, whenever there is a new version you will get a notification when you are searching for new updates.

You will find an outlook for the new version Spybot 2.0 here.

If you have Twitter you can also get the latest news live from our lead developer Patrick Kolla. Just follow us on Twitter.
