S&D exe file is a read only? error on startup

I have been using S&D for years. Recently I got an error message, something like a.exe bla bla... and then b.exe bla bla...I restarted the computer and then tried running S&D and it failed stating that "windows cannot access the specified path, device or file. you may not have permission to access the item." Reinstalled spybot and got an error that spybot.exe is a read only file "abort,retry or ignore". Only thing that worked was ignor. Now the exe file is grayed out and I cant run the program. Every other spyware seems to be down now too. Ad-aware, AVG stopped responding.

So.. Uninstalled AVG and went with AVAST. Uninstalled everything rebooted in safe mode, deleted everything in temp folders, etc. Cant run hijackthis, spybot,ad-aware... they wont initialize at all.

Installed (and bought) Spyware Doctor, that ran and killed a lot of stuff. But still having problems with my browser redirecting to other sights and I still cant run spyware!

Anyone have any ideas?
