I got ride of Adober Reader and installed the new Java. But now youtube says I need to turn on java script or install the new Adobe Flash player. Any suggestions?
Once we are sure all of the malware is gone we will tackle any softwarel issues that are left before we finish.

Please visit this webpage for download links, and instructions for running the tool:

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix

Please ensure you read this guide carefully and install the Recovery Console first

The Windows Recovery Console will allow you to boot up into a special recovery (repair) mode. This allows us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware. It is a simple procedure that will only take a few moments of your time.

Once installed, you should see a blue screen prompt that says:

The Recovery Console was successfully installed

    Please continue as follows:

Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html
    Remember to re-enable them afterwards.

Click Yes to allow ComboFix to continue scanning for malware.

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. Post that report and a new HJT log

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use

    Thanks

    See this: http://www.systemlookup.com/CLSID/20564.html
    http://www.benedelman.org/spyware/ask-toolbars/
    http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_185490.htm

Let's continue with some cleaning like this.

    1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

*Cleaning Prefetch may result in a few slow starts until the folder is repopulated:
    http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...efetch-XP.html

    2) Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the codebox below into it:

    Code:
    Registry::
    [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{201f27d4-3704-41d6-89c1-aa35e39143ed}]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar]
    "{3041d03e-fd4b-44e0-b742-2d9b88305f98}"=-

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\clsid\{3041d03e-fd4b-44e0-b742-2d9b88305f98}]

    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{4b1c1e16-6b34-430e-b074-5928eca4c150}]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\Webbrowser]
    "{3041D03E-FD4B-44E0-B742-2D9B88305F98}"=-

    Folder::
    c:\program files\AskBarDis

    c:\documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Viewpoint

    c:\program files\Viewpoint
    Save this as CFScript

Referring to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe.

This will start ComboFix again. After reboot, (in case it asks to reboot) There is no need to post the combofix log, post please a new HJT log and tell me how the computer is running now.

    Thanks

I definitly think my computer is running better overall compared to the mess it was in when we started. It actually seemed to go to sleep and cool off rather than run when I closed the screen last time. [side question: Is my IE browser out of date too? Because sometimes McAfee takes me to a page that warns something is trying to take advantage of a vulnerability in my browser.]
