    Default scan folders

    Hi,

SpyBot seems not scanning and detect files in these folders for possible harmful cookies, etc.

    C:\Documents and Settings\<login name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

    C:\Documents and Settings\<login name>\Cookies\

(I am using Chrome, FireFox3.5, IE6 on xp home (sp2).)
    Thankx.

    Hello,

    Spybot does scan for cookies.

There are different ways to search for spies. One would be to search the complete registry and harddisk for suspicious entries and files. That can take a lot of time.

Spybot-S&D takes advantage of the fact that all spies have to anchor themselves at a few places over the system to get active. It starts to search at these places, following the information gathered there to catch the whole spy.

So it is not necessary to make your own scan.

But if you want to scan single files you can use the File Scanner - you can scan every single file with it.

(SDFiles.exe in the program folder if you didnt select it during installation to appear in Explorers context menu).

    Best regards
