    Default BootCD

I have CCleaner on two BootCD's that I got from a friend for virus removal.

Unfortunately, Spybot only scans the registry hive for the host registry. Is there a way to load a remote hive? How can I scan the infected computer from the BootCD?

    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hello,

Spybot-S&D supports the possibility to scan and clean the PC booting from a BartPE CD. This has the great advantage that no malware or other programs can interfere with this process.

The requirement is that you have Spybot-S&D installed on your PC. You can also put the whole Spybot-S&D folder on CD or USB Stick. BartPE recognizes some USB devices if they are connected before startup. Spybot-S&D doesn't need any additional Data, it's enough to start SpybotSD.exe from hard disk or CD/USB and scan the PC.

I have it on the boot CD but it scans the registry of BartPE and not the "infected" machines registry.

Are you saying that I should copy the folder to the infected drive and then run it from there?

Example: BartPE is on R Drive and the infected OS drive is D:

Which registry will Spybot look at?
