unsure

im unsure if this pertains to malware or not. but my USB ports on my computer use to work fine. but recently anything I plug in to my USB ports be it my printer, phone, Ipod etc.

it comes up with a bubble that says "USB device not recognized. device has malfunctioned and windows is unable to recognize the device. click this bubble for further information."

I ran all updates, tried removing all power from laptop for 30min-1 hour then re-powering the laptop, tried uninstalling the USB Hub and reinstalling via device manager. even ran a hotfix via Microsoft.com also did not help.

from research i have done online it seems there is no fix for this issue.

hope you all can help me, be it a corrupted file or registry error i dont know.
