Hosts error, HJT errors

Originally, I ran Spybot and Spybot found the following Malware:
Fraud.WindowsProtectionSuite (15 entries Malware)
Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHosts (3 entries SecurityC)

When tried to fix, get following error:

Unexpected error in fixing problems (Cannot create file "C:\windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts". Access is denied)


Then, I installed ERUNT and HJT and received the following errors from HJT:

"For some reason your system denied write access to the Hosts file. If any hijacked domains are in this file, HijackThis may NOT be able to fix this.

If that happens, you need to edit the firle yourself. To do this, click Start, Run and type:

notepad C:\windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

and press Enter, Find the line(s) HijackThis reports and delete them. Save the file as 'hosts.' (with quotes), and reboot.

For Vista: simply, exit HijackThis, right click on the HijackThis icon, choose 'Run as administrator'."


HijackThis Error Details:

An unexpected error has occurred at procedure:

Error #75 - Path/File access error

Windows version: Windows NT 6.01.3504

HijackThis version: 2.0.3

Your hosts file has invalid linebreaks and HijackThis is unable to fix this.

Let's see if we get better results with other tool.

Download DDS and save it to your desktop from here or here or here.
Disable any script blocker, and then double click dds.scr to run the tool.

• When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  1. DDS.txt
  2. Attach.txt
• Save both reports to your desktop. Post them back to your topic.

1. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix, link
   Remember to re-enable them afterwards.
