    Question Host Files

I have uninstalled spy bot search and destroy since I didn't understand most of spy bots bonus features and installed ad-aware. In any event spy bot has made my host files read only giving them phenomenal protection unfortunately I am not sure if my host files were clean when I provided the protection. How can I check my host files since the protection wont let me scan my host files with Trend Micro's Hi Jack This?

    Hello,

Please delete your old host file.
Where the hosts file is located depends on your Windows version.
    Windows 2000/XP/NT: C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    Windows 95/98: C:\windows\hosts

Then download a new host file from this site.

    Copy the whole text.
Then create a new txt file on your desktop and name it hosts without any extensions.
Then paste the text into it and store the file at the same place like mentioned above.

    Best regards
