Default Redirect Virus, not on Google

I am experiencing a problem where, whenever I open either Firefox or Internet Explorer, I can only use it normally for a brief period of time (5 to 10 seconds) before it tries to redirect me to a different page.

Luckily, the main antivirus software I have (ESET's Nod32) recognizes the redirect page as a threat, and doesn't allow it to load.
Unfortunately, the web browser then closes immediately with no action from me.
Nod32 is unable to find the actual cause of the redirect.

I used Spybot Search and Destroy as well, and it found a few problems and fixed them, but the redirecting is still happening.

*I know I am supposed to attach my scan log to this thread in order for a helper to review it, but since I can only use the internet browser for 10 seconds before the virus takes over, I can't even get to this forum's page in time.*
(I am using a different computer to access this page).
The only method I can think of would be to save the log to a flash drive and transfer it to this computer in order to load it to the thread, but I really don't want to risk the chance of also transferring the virus.

So, the first step I need help with is--
what to do to be able to keep my internet browser open to the page I need, so I can actually load the scan log for review!!

    Thanks.

    Hello pianogrl27

    Welcome to Safer Networking.

While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen. It is advisable that you back up your important data before starting any clean up procedure. Neither Safer Networking Forums nor the Analyst providing the advice may be held responsible for any loss.

You may have to download this to a known clean computer and transfer it by disk to the infected one, run it, save the log and transfer it back and post it please

Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
    • DDS.com
    • DDS.scr
    • DDS.pif
    • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
    • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
    • Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
    • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
    • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Due to inactivity, this thread will now be closed.

If it has been four days or more since your last post, and the helper assisting you posted a response to that post to which you did not reply, your topic will not be reopened. At that point, if you still require help, please start a new topic and include a new DDS log with a link to your previous thread. Please do not add any logs that might have been requested in the closed topic, you would be starting fresh.
