Default asked to restart before spyware removed- ok?

I ran spybot for the first time last night. After it found a bunch of spyware, when I pressed the 'remove' button, it asked me to restart my computer before it could clear the spyware. In the tutorial, there was no mention of maybe having to restart before clearing. I did shut down the computer last night. Can I still trust that the spybot program is genuine? And what do I do if this happens again? (when I turned the computer on this morning, all I could do was restart the scan.)
    Thanks a million,
    AB

    Hello,

Spybot - Search & Destroy can not delete all files. Some files used by Windows are running in the background. If you would delete these files before the application they are involved in your system would be instable. But if you restart your System Spybot - Search & Destroy can find and destroy them, before they are activated. That is the reason why you sometimes have to restart your system after the scan has finished.

    Best regards
