    Default Spybot killed my Norton?

So I have Norton, which came with my laptop.

I installed Spybot S&D and now my Norton says it is corrupted.

Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this?

Can you uninstall 360, reboot, then try reinstalling it to see if it corrects the issue? I can't see Spybot being the culprit as I have NIS 2011 and it plays very friendly with Spybot S&D. Then again you have 360, not NIS.

I agree -- I haven't had any problems (that I know of) with Norton and Spybot working together.

    BTW, I too have N360.

N360 sometimes does weird things. A couple of months ago it had some kind of problem, and before I knew it it was spontaneously updating itself to version 4. Whatever happened, I'm happy with the new version, as it seems to catch things that v.3 didn't find.

A Norton 360 reinstall might be the best medicine.

    Hello,

Norton states that our software Spybot - Search & Destroy is incompatible with theirs.
We have tested Norton and we didn't get any problems with Spybot-S&D.
Here are similar experiences from other users:

If you install Spybot-S&D after the installation of Norton there won't
be any major problems. Symantec itself is suggesting this procedure:

My personal experiences with ANYTHING by Norton has NOT been good. I've personally had 2 computers eat'en UP by viruses....and have had over 10 friends have the same or other problems with the company's software.

In the LONG run...(myself included)...I've had MUCH better success running ONLY SpyBot...and nothing else...on both my computers...and other friend's computers.

If I hadn't been unemployed for the last 30 months....and struggling financially...I'd make a SERIOUS donation to the folks here on SpyBot.

JMHO...and good luck with what you do.
