Default Spybot seems to allow everything

I am a long time user of the program and i absolutely love it.

I recently formatted and i find that Spybot allows everything now without asking me first. (Paranoid mode it asks me though)

For example, when i change my screen-saver it automatically allows it. I am pretty sure in the past it would ask me if this was OK.

I have included my log if that helps.

    Hello,

    Perhaps you have whitelisted anything.
Please right-click the Resident icon in the system tray "Spybot S&D resident" and select "Settings". There you will find 4 lists for remembered decisions (allowed/denied processes and registry changes). In order to remove an entry just click on the cross next to it. TeaTimer will then "forget" this decision and you will be asked again the next time.

    Best regards

Thank you for getting back to me so promptly.

I know you must be busy so i appreciate it.

Thats the thing Sandra, In the Black and White list in settings, all four options are blank. i.e no entries at all .

I allowed a change of screensaver using paranid mode yesterday, and it does not show up in "the allowed registry changes" section for example

It is the same on my laptop as well as my Desktop.

    Hello,

The changes are only added to the black and white list if you have marked "remember this decision" when you allow or deny an item.
So if you want to undo a change try to perform the action again. The TeaTimer should ask you once again for allow and deny.

I feel a bit silly now

Thank you for clearing the matter up, although i am still not sure why say for example when i change my screensaver, i am not asked if i want to allow it or not.

Paranoid mode does ask so i have just left it on that mode.

    Excuse my ignorance.

    Hello,

Lot's of users did complain about the always asking of the resident TeaTimer, so we have decided to change that a little.

This is the new way of monitoring by TeaTimer.
To return to the "old" way of monitoring right click on TeaTimer and change it to "Paranoid Mode".
This thread has more details on the new TeaTimer.

    Best regards
