Before I begin, I ran ERUNT. Worked fine. I ran DDS and it froze for a very long time, eventually I saw some weird binary data appear in the Notepad window and then when I clicked it it said "Not Responding".
Got a virus yesterday when I clicked on some website where I was trying to find help as to the configuration of a gmail account w/ Outlook... not important I guess, but anyway, a pop-up browser window appeared behind the browser I was looking at, seemed to be an advertisement of some sort, so I shut down, re-started in Safe Mode, ran a SpyBot scan, ran a MalwareBytes scan, both of which found several items which I then removed.
I reboot my computer and suddenly I've got less than half of the icons appearing on my desktop that normally appear, and my quick-launch toolbar (next to the start button) is gone. Additionally, audio advertisements begin coming out of my speakers. I'm stumped.
I jumped into my Documents & Settings folder and found that a lot was missing. I found out that in the Options, "Hide System Files" had been checked...I usually leave it unchecked. When I unchecked it, all my missing icons appeared on my desktop.
One other thing, I keep getting random pop-ups "Internet Explorer Script Error" dialog boxes. Each time they have a different URL listed.
Yikes!!!! The continuous audio is the worst part....
Help, please!
Thanks,
Scott

I still haven't found a way to create a DDS log to post here. It's not working. Also, my browsers (IE8 & Firefox) appear to re-direct when I use them. I'm posting this via Chrome. It seems as if a browser is running in the background because of the audio adds I keep hearing and also because of the Internet Explorer Script Error dialog boxes that keep popping up.
Thanks in advance,
Scott
I rebooted the computer into safe mode and tried to launch the DDS.scr file. Again, the program froze. Sorry. Is there another way to get a log for you folks that would help?
Scott.

Edit
"BEFORE You POST"(Please read this Procedure Before Requesting Assistance)Posting additional comments or logs before a volunteer responds can push you back instead of forward, because your thread ends up with a newer date. In addition helpers would think you are already being assisted because of the post count, they look for topics with a 0 response. For that reason we may merge such posts but please do not count on it.
Also,
If the infection prevents DDS from running, please start a topic anyway and make note of the situation.
