    Hey thanks again for the assistance. Afraid i followed all those steps but the regexport.txt file didn't appear. I did have a check in the registry and that key doesn't seem to exist.

    Hi,

    Please check if c:\program files\windows defender folder exists. Let me know about the results.

    Hi,

    Note to readers: this attached file is only to be used in loz2010's case. Don't try it if you're not owner of this topic.

    1. Please download attached zip file.
    2. Extract the zip file contents to your desktop.
    3. Double click the registry file inside and allow merging.
    4. Reboot and see if Windows Defender works now.

    Great! It works again so now i can disable and carry on with life as normal. Thanks a bunch.
