Default Run as Admin on Windows XP???

    Hi Friends,
I have a Windows XP desktop which I don't use much anymore (sp3), but I still like to keep it updated and securely scanned. I'm using Spybot S&D v 1.6.2.46.

Today after I installed updates, I went to Immunize, but couldn't. There was a message that I need administrator rights to immunize! I also have a Windows 7 laptop, so I know how to open Spybot S&D with Run As Admin. But that option is not available in Windows XP.

This is the only account on this computer, and it is the admin/owner account. Am I going to have to set up a new admin account to do this? Or otherwise, how can I get this immunize done?

    Thanks for your help :-)

    Hello,

To have a look at which rights you have on your account or to create a new password please have a look at your Windows control panel.
Below "user and passwords" you can see which group your user name belongs to.
If you didn't change how to start Spybot-S&D you should have the same rights as it is placed there.
To run Spybot-S&D under a different user account (for example one with admin rights) please right-click here and choose 'open as'.
There should be an option to enter a user name and a password.

    Best regards
