Default Found large amount of suspicious inputs in hosts file

Tonight I found a TON of new hosts file entries while I was looking around and there was a line stating these files were placed there by Spybot Search and Destroy. I have never seen this type of activity before in the hosts file. There were 100's of spam, gambling and porn sites, which I have not visited or would add to my hosts file. Are my instincts correct and removing these entries was the proper action to take?

I also removed the beta version and I gained a lot of hard drive space back (from in the red to back to under half full). I have not had this happen ever with the regular spybot. Is this related or just a weird coincidence?

Please look into this security issue on beta because Spybot has been very good in the past.

(I reinstalled the regular spybot and everything is running normal....)

    Hello,

By the immunization of Spybot - Search & Destroy the baddies are blocked.
That means that the sites where the baddies come from are added to the restricted zones (host file) in order to block them.

    Best regards
