Bancos.prx pretends to be a harmless file like a picture to get executed. It connects to its malicious servers in background and tries to hide as a Windows system file to compromise the computer. It also uses the Internet Explorer to secretly contact its malicious servers and acquire banking data. Bancos.prx can also use a proxy to redirect Internet access to banking and email sites.Removal Instructions:
Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.
You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
If Bancos.prx uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
- Remove "http://www.atualizarsistemasv2.me/sistemasvs.txt" from registry value "AutoConfigURL" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\".
