Description:
Fraud.Foxit.daws is a fraudulent installer for Foxit Phantom PDF Business. It installs a stolen copy of Foxit Phantom PDF Business and tries to trick the user into installing affiliate software like Babylon Toolbar and PriceGong. It is also capable to download more malicious software that gets installed by fooling the user.

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\file.exe".
  • The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\Foxit Phantom PDF Setup Log.txt".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\key\fpmkey.txt".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\lua5.1.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\Uninstall\IRIMG1.JPG".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\Uninstall\IRIMG2.JPG".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\Uninstall\uninstall.dat".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Foxit Phantom PDF\Uninstall\uninstall.xml".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.Foxit.daws uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!
