This is a page for when Firefox won't start:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb...find-solutions

As for your firewall, did you also try steps 7 to 10,after you ran Microsoft Safety Scanner?
And are you using Windows 7?

7.Click Start, and then typeWindows Firewallin the Search programs and filesbox (Windows 7) or in the Start search box (Windows Vista).

    I get this:

can't even get to step 8,9,10.

    Alright,thanks for the video.
You could try Method 2,by clicking the Fix-it link, and see what happens.

As for Firefox, what happens with that?Is Firefox itself not opening,or are you unable to view the webpage when you open it?

Tried the "Fix it", didn't work.
    then I tried this:

Click Start, type Notepad in the Start Search box, and then click Notepad in the Programs list.

Copy the following text, and then paste the text into Notepad:

    sc config wuauserv start= auto
    sc config bits start= auto
    sc config DcomLaunch start= auto
    net stop wuauserv
    net start wuauserv
    net stop bits
    net start bits
    net start DcomLaunch

Click File, click Save As, and then type Repair.bat.
In the Save as type box, click All Files (*.*).
In the Save in box, click Desktop, and then click Save.
On the File menu, click Exit.
Right click the Repair.bat file that you saved in step 5, and then click Run as administrator. This action starts the required services. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
Try to install the updates again. If you can install the updates, delete the Repair.bat file. To delete the Repair.bat file, right-click Repair.bat, click Delete, and then click Yes.

I was able to update some but it didn't resolve firewall.

As for Firefox, the windows stays at minimal, it does come up to the screen no matter how many time you click those windows....sigh...

You were unable to download Windows Updates as well?
Could you list anything else that's not working right?
