    Default PUP.Optional.SearchProtect.A?

    Why is it that Malwarebytes seems to be the only security software that finds and quarantines the referenced?

    Other security software may find PUP.Optional.SearchProtect.A,but they might call it by a different name.
    You could ask them about it at their forum,if you like it.

    Thanks for the information. I'm used to reading about malicious software that's referred to by the same name. I guess you're inferring that due to quantity of malware and that the malware isn't sitting around with a neon sign with its name attached that differing companies offer differing names for the same or similar bad or annoying stuff.

    Yes.Different malware have different names by different malware removal companies.(Or antivirus companies,whichever the case may be)
