Lets just create it manually, this will take a few steps to do, post back if any questions
You will get an error when trying to save a notepad file to the root drive of your computer unless we run Notepad as admimistrator
First we have to make sure that you can see all files and folders
- Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
- Open the Control Panel switch to classic view, then click Folder Options.
- After the new window appears select the View tab.
- Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
- Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
- Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
- Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
- Press the Apply button and then the OK button and exit My Computer.
- Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.
Then go to Computer > Your C: drive > then click on the Windows folder to open it, then click on the System32 folder to open it, then look for Notepad , right click on Notepad and select Send To Desktop ( create shortcut ) Save it to your desktop. You can right click on Notepad on your desktop and and rename, remame it Notepad as admin
Then Right click on Notepad as admin and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, when it opens copy and paste this in
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost
Save the file as Hosts save it to your desktop
Then right click on the Hosts file and select copy
then go here and paste it in
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc <--This folder.
Then run a new scan with FRST
