Thumbs up Spybot+ Antivirus 2.3 Not Protecting some FireFox files.

Hi, new to this, so be gentle with me please.

I'm running Win 8.1 64 Bit and running Latest FFv31 and Avast home.
When I run Spybot with or without Administrator Rights, to update and immunize, the following happens.

I down load the latest updates, then run immunize and it misses (does not protect) the following FFox files.

    PE_C_Public (default) (Cookies) 193
    PE_C_Public (default) (Images) 15492
    PE_C_Public (default) (installations) 15492
    PE_C_Public (default) (Popups) 15492

No matter what I do, it won't protect these files?

Also, when I update about 2/3 times a week, the system says "last signatures update 5 days ago" when I know I have just done it.
Ran deep root scan, not sure of results??

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks everyone.

There were two other people on the forums who couldn't immunize PE_C_Public,one with Opera, and another with Firefox:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread...l=1#post434278
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread...-%28default%29
I couldn't find out what the PE_C_PUBLIC profile is when I searched, though, except for this brief mention, and I'm not sure if it's the same thing:
PE c public-key encryption under root's public key.

Also, when I update about 2/3 times a week, the system says "last signatures update 5 days ago" when I know I have just done it.
Please see 2. in this post:

That was fixed in Spybot 2.4.

For the root kit scan, please see here:

For some reason when I ran SBot today, the updater said that I had updated today and not 5 days ago as had been happening.

I ran immunization and it ran through all the files very fast but then slowly, very slowly, (took 10 mins) it protected the files in question!!

    PE_C_Public (default) (Cookies) 193
    PE_C_Public (default) (Images) 15492
    PE_C_Public (default) (installations) 15492
    PE_C_Public (default) (Popups) 15492

Thanks for the info and I will see how it goes.

    Good to hear.

That's roughly how long mine takes to immunize Firefox. It's usually (installations) 15492 that takes the longest, with (Popups) 15492 being a close second.

The thing is, I have no Idea what those public files do and where they are. Still running now, until next time.

    Thanks.

PE_C_Public would be one of Firefox's profiles. If it's the default one you use on your own account, you might be able to find it this way:
