When you open system restore and it shows you some restore points look for an option to show more restore points because I am sure there available, its showing in your FRST report that there there

Download MiniToolBox and save it to your desktop , right click on it and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR

Checkmark the following boxes:

• List Restore Points

Click Go and post the result (Result.txt) that pops up. A copy of result.txt will be saved in the same directory the tool is run.

Why Does it say ran by computer as administrator on 1-10-14, which are the same dates as windows updates below it? Strange.

I am assuming that I am up the creek without a paddle. In answer to your other questions then - yes, I have a copy of windows 7 with key.

If I have to reformat this, is there a way to save my bookmarks in Firefox and my photographs that are in my files?

When you right click on any program and select run as administrator it will show in the log as thats how it was run

Conflicting reports on Restore Points, these are showing up on your FRST log

I dont think it would do any good to restore to 9/23 so unless you see one around 9/20 then lets forget about it

Yes, you can save all your documents and photos to a CD or a USB Thumbdrive and when you reinstall windows you can just copy them back. I know with chome bookmarks are in the cloud and when you reinstall chome you can get them back,

What I would do is post here at a site we work closely with, post in there windows forum, just tell them that it was advised at this site to just format and reinstall windows, let them know you have your windows 7 disk and product key and they can run yu through the process

Like Safer its free but you will need to register

Been at this for many many years and this one was a duzzy Every once in awhile is just best to reinstall windows, this will guarantee you a nice clean running system with no malware.
