Constant loading indicator

I recently upgraded to professional protection and have noticed that every 3-4 seconds, the window's loading icon (blue circle) appears next to the mouse. I know this has something to do with live protection/updates.

I am a med student and spent 75% of my day in front of my computer working through question banks. Repeatedly getting flashes of the loading icon (which annoys me way more than it should) has become very distracting. Is there anyway to stop this icon from appearing without jeopardizing security by turning off updates and live protection?

No,I don't believe so.You might be seeing the blue circle by the mouse pointer when Live Protection is scanning processes before they start(if that is checked in the Settings->Live Protection tab),which is more of a windows wait indicator type thing,and can't be turned off through Spybot.
