Default Need Help with System Scan

I have downloaded spybot 2.4 and was able to perform the update. When I click on system scan I get the box asking if I want to allow and click yes but then nothing happens. I am pretty sure there is a virus or malware on my computer not allowing it to run. I have also tried booting in safe mode with networking and it does the same thing. Any advice? Thanks. I am also unable to install any other anti-virus software such as malwarebytes. They download but won't install.

    Did you elevate Spybot's permissions?

Right-click the Spybot - Search & Destroy entry in your start menu, instead of just left-clicking to start it.
Choose Run as administrator from the context menu.

If the issue doesn't resolve please start a new topic in the Malware Removal Forum and a volunteer analyst will advise.

First see that forum's FAQ which also includes instructions in post #2 on how to provide the logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and aswMBR, which are the logs used in the preliminary analysis.

Yes, I did try running it as administrator but it did the same thing. Thank you. I have posted in the malware removal forum.
