Thank you so much.
Our computers are on a router, but they are not on a network. Can I still use a host file, or will it mess everything up?
Thank you so much.

Did you have to edit the Hosts file and add adress's to it for your network ?
Probaly not, you can always try winhelp2002s hosts and if there are any problems delete it and put back the original, the original will be named
c:\windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS.MVP

Got it. I'll need to realy read up on this before doing anything, because knowing me, I can kill the computer altogether.
Thanks for all your help. Everything is back to normal!
Hi
I misread your comment "but they are not on a network."
So there will defiantly be no problem using a custom hosts file.

Yes, they are not on a network. I think I'll give it a try on the computer that is still under warranty. Don't want to kill this one!
Thanks again!

What are the current problems ?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Microsoft MVP Windows-Security 2006
IEXPLORE.EXE is usually using 10-30% of CPU (I'm checking it under task manager). My last popup a couple of minutes ago was from a.truablfusion.com (wants me to go to university).
This is probably unrelated, but I still have files left over from uninstalling Nortons Systemworks 2002. Can't get rid of them, I see one entry on HJT log, and my recycling bin shows as "Protected" but it acts like a normal one.
