re: spybotsd_advcheck.exe
I don’t know what is preventing access to the advcheck.dll. The only thing that I can suggest is to:
- Disable Teatimer:
- Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident
- Uncheck (if checked) the following:
Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.- Reboot your system.
- Execute spybotsd_advcheck.exe.
- Re-enable Teatimer:
- Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > Resident
- Check (if unchecked) the following:
Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.
re: Update.exe
I am not sure exactly what Update.exe does or when/if it is executed. From the comments within the program:
- Für Updates, die nur bei beendeten Spybot-S&D möglich sind. (For updates, which are possible with terminated Spybot S&D only.)
This is pure speculation, but from the comments it may be the program that is used with updates such as the one referenced in the following threads:
- DOS Based Installer?
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=3398- Spybot closes itself after updates
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=3718
Go into Spybot > Update (left pane) > on the Update screen click the "Show log" button (right pane). Are there any downloads shown for:
- mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss xM Downloaded update info file.
If there is no indication that that file is being downloaded, then the integrated update facility is not working.
