How to recover registry

Hello,

i was wondering where and how spyybot was saving the registry after the installation, because my windows can't start anymore (but I still have linux ) and the reg backup of spybot is maybe my only chance to recover my old system (if there is anyway to restore it from linux)

Try to boot Windows in "safe mode"(be patient....sometime XP is slow....very slow...to boot and sometime to close)....if the computer starts,
Spybot offer at installation to create a "restoration point" with XP(i take for granted you are on XP)....just go to "help and support" in XP and search for "restoration point"..anyway XP does a "restoration point" before any new software installation.........always try to take the most recent point before the problem......you will normally see a restoration point with Spybot in the writtings......take that one...it will be normally ok after that.....
i don't understand why Spybot done that to you?!
