    Default sorry-may be regular question

Updated yesterday, but on installation got "wouldn't update" messages for cha.dll; fenel.dll and mate.dll.

Does this indicate something nasty; is there any fix, please?

    nebbard:

I assume you mean Chai.dll, Fennel.dll and Mate.dll. They are anti-rootkit plugins use by SpybotSD.exe during scans.

What version of Spybot - Search & Destroy are you running (Spybot » Help » About)?

    nebbard:

Go to the following Web page:

Download and execute following item (spybotsd_plugins.exe). Note: Exit Spybot (SpybotSD.exe) before you execute spybotsd_plugins.exe:
    • Anti rootkit plugins© 1.0 - product description
      md5: EE7278BC89D4557CFD7127EACC37EE70

Supported only for version 1.5.2 or above!
This adds improved capabilities to find rootkits. Only needed if you do not want to use the update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.

    The direct download link is:

    __________

After you have executed the above program (spybotsd_plugins.exe), using Windows Explorer navigate to the following folder:
    • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Plugins

The folder should contain the following:
    • Chai.dll
    • Fennel.dll
    • Mate.dll
    • TCPIPAddress.dll

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.
