Random ad pop-ups PLUS hideously slow pc PLUS 'IE hs encountered a problem...'

Afternoon all.

I've had some excellent help on here over the last few years,and although this isn't quite as urgent as previously I could still do with some know-how!

I have windows XP, with AVG paid-for av. Popups are blocked but these advert sites keep appearing :-( Also, the system is incredibly slow, frequently freezes and often we get the 'Internet Explorer has Encountered a Problem and Needs to Close...' AV and spybot scans appear clear so I'm at a bit of a loss now...

Any help would be appreciated!

Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link and produce a HijackThis log:

• "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance).

After you have read those instructions, start your own thread in the Malware Removal forum, making sure to post the HijackThis log produced from those instructions.
