Not necessary if you don't use IE. However, make sure IE is up-to-date since some programs use IE components under the hood.

I couldn't uninstall Combofix. I got the error message that Windows could not find Combofix.

Is ComboFix.exe still in this location: c:\users\Henry\Desktop ?

I was using McAfee when I got the infection, and I've since switched to AVG. Some things about AVG I don't like that much. Do you think Microsoft Security Essentials is a good program?

Yes, MSE has made a positive impact on me.

Do I need both Spybot and Anti-Malware Bytes on the computer? Do I need to run scans often? Do I need to keep the Tea Timer running? (It seems to hog up some system resources.)

I'd keep them both and run occasionally (once or twice a month). Don't have to have both running all the time. Yes, TeaTimer can be disabled if you feel that may not need it

I had dragged ComboFix to the trash. I put it back on the desktop on uninstalled it using your method. It seemed to work but I never saw an OTM.exe icon to click on.

The computer is running well. Thanks so much for your help! I plan to make a donation to this site sometime next week.

In post #50 I gave instructions to download OTM program. It's possible that you had already deleted it
