Spybot-SD Resident slow to start

Hi,

Spybot was very slow to fire up (issue 85), so I installed SpybotSD.exe 1.5.1.16. It now fires up in 50 seconds, which is fine. However when booting, Spybot-SD Resident takes 13 minutes to fire up. Any chance of speeding this up as well?

Many thanks,
Martin

It occurs to me that it might be the TeaTimer which is slow to start-up.

What happens with Spybot when the machine boots is that the floppy drive is accessed. At this point, if I look at the task manager it shows Teatime.exe running. Nothing now happens for 13 minutes. The floppy drive is then accessed a second time, and within a few seconds the Sypbot-SD Resident icon appears in the Taskbar tray on the right. The task manager still only shows Teatimer.exe running.

This lag during booting is just irritating, but I hope it can be solved.

Regards,
Martin

A fix for the drive a check is availible in our beta forum:

Did you already tried the new Helloween Edition of Spybot?
This is the full installer for all the bugs fixed and new features implemented since 1.5.1.15.

Just installed the Helloween Edition. It is no different in that, during booting, there is still a 13 minute lag before the Spybot-SD Resident icon appears. The floppy drive is no longer accessed, but that never really bothered me.

Please put this on your list of irritating problems to tackle.

Many thanks,
Martin
