I have just received an email asking me to visit a link and download Spybot 2009. It comes from Spybot in Panama. Is this genuine or spam?

Hello,
This is a fake spam mail sent to cheat people. Please do not download anything from that site. And remember Spybot is freeware (for private use) and you do not have to pay anything to download it.

The current version of Spybot - Search & Destroy is version 1.6 which you can download on our homepage, mentioned by Mister W above.

Spybot 2009 is a fake anti spyware application.
