Unable to remove Errorsafe

I seem to be unable to remove the Errorsafe malware no matter what I do. I have tried with Spybot S&D, AVG antivirus and Ad-aware, all to no avail. Every time I use the IE or Opera browser, the dreaded Errorsafe message appears. Is this like the AIDS of computer viruses, or what? Is there no way to remove this garbage? Those who made it should be prosecuted. They have a web page, so it can't be that hard to track them down.

I will say that Symantec has manual removal instructions here:
