Description:
RegFreezer claims to be a antispyware solution and if it is installed on the computer, it finds some entries as malware which are totally harmless. When the user tries to fix these problems he has to buy a licence and so the programs tries to frighten users by showing false positives.
Removal Instructions:

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "RegFreeze.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze\regfreeze.exe".
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "TitanShield Antispyware.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze\regfreeze.exe".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "RegFreeze_is1".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If RegFreeze uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

  • The directory at "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\RegFreeze\run_backup".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze\AskMod".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze\bkcpy".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RegFreeze\Help".

  • Delete the registry key "{F745F808-E783-4301-8B95-253DC70BEEFE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{76044441-36EA-4E99-A71A-C12070DD13CD}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • Delete the registry key "rfsearchhandler.DLL" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{635CB2D1-772C-4FCC-AF87-EF6C316C9A5A}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{CDB280E8-BE43-4128-8A5A-3FCD094E2D88}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\".
  • Delete the registry key "RegFreeze" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FindExtensions\Static\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "rfsearchhandler.RegFreezeIEButton", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "rfsearchhandler.RegFreezeIEButton.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "rfsearchhandler.RegFreezeSearchHandle.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "rfsearchhandler.RegFreezeSearchHandler", plus associated values.
