The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "QuickPage.SwitchDialer" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "QuickZip" and pointing to "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LS.EXE".
  • Entries named "Quicktlme".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\LS.EXE".
  • A file with an unknown location named "ls.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ru.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If QuickPage.SwitchDialer uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\QuickPage\Portal".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If QuickPage.SwitchDialer uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Quicktlme", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry value "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LS.EXE" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\User Trusted External Applications\".
  • Delete the registry key "Javascrlpt" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\".
  • Delete the registry key "application/x-callswitch" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\".
  • Delete the registry key "{5CBF8C22-E9A6-11D7-90FE-000AE4012DB4}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\".
  • Delete the registry key "QuickPage" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "SwitchDialer" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
  • Delete the registry value "%sysdir%\RU.EXE" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\User Trusted External Applications\".
  • Delete the registry value "application/x-callswitch" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Viewers\".
  • Delete the registry value "{5CBF8C22-E9A6-11D7-90FE-000AE4012DB4}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\ClsidFeature\".
If QuickPage.SwitchDialer uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.
  • Please check your bookmarks for links to "QuickPage/Portal/portal.html".
