Description:
Netpumper 'demo' comes bundled with WhenU.Clocksync, WhenU.Save and Cydoor. It only runs with these bundled adware components installed. There are reports of stealth installs by Netpumper. Netpumper's domain is registered via DomainsByProxy which is used to hide ones identity. Legal companies should refrain from registering domains through such means.
Supposed Functionality:
Netpumper is a download accelerator which comes bundled with adware in the 'demo version'.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "NetPumper" and pointing to "?<$PROGRAMFILES>\NetPumper\NetPumperIEProxy.exe?".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "NetPumper_is1".

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\NetPumper\help".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\NetPumper\help\images".

  • Delete the registry key "{A8B0F390-E6BF-4027-A4D4-1E4363F5E27B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{A9E33220-0B05-11D7-88D2-444553540000}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NetPumper.AddUrl", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{1145A909-A836-44B8-B03A-48D858B0F43E}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{E19B133D-184E-4BBA-8A70-38489C9DD31B}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{E0ABBF96-17DC-44CA-96D0-6217064A97BA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NetPumperNNProxy.NetscapeInterface", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{F7258F6E-9F60-49C0-8C82-F0A0993D68E0}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Remove "NetPumperNNProxy.NetscapeInterface" from registry value "ftp" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Automation Protocols\".
  • Remove "NetPumperNNProxy.NetscapeInterface" from registry value "http" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Automation Protocols\".
  • Delete the registry key "NetPumper" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "Download with NetPumper" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt\".
If Netpumper uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
