The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "NiceSpy.XPKeylogger" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
NiceSpy.XPKeylogger tracks the user's surfing and working behaviour. NiceSpy.XPKeylogger creates autorun entries in the registry in order to be launched on each Windows startup. It records all keystrokes without user consent and thus makes it possible to spy on the user. Same application as NiceSpy.Keylogger.
Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Shortcuts named "XP Keylogger.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\*.exe".

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Items named "Help Online.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Help.url".
  • Items named "Homepage.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Homepage.url".
  • Items named "Purchase.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Purchase.url".
  • Items named "Uninstall XP Keylogger.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\unins000.exe".
  • Items named "XP Keylogger.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\*.exe".

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "XP Keylogger.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\*.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "SysService" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\*.exe".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "XP Keylogger_is1".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\configs.ini".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Help.url".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Homepage.url".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\messenger.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\Purchase.url".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\winlogon.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\data\appdata.dat".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\data\appdata.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\data\assdata.dat".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If NiceSpy.XPKeylogger uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\XP Keylogger".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\data".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\init".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\init\images".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\XP Keylogger\logs".

  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.AboutBox.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.Explorer", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.Explorer.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.HotkeyControl", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.HotkeyControl.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "NiceRecorderDll.LoginBox", plus associated values.
