Description:
this hijacker installs via the chm exploit, meaning it comes disquised in a windows helpfile and installs itself without the users content and redirects the Internet Explorer to various websites.
Supposed Functionality:
by name it is supposed to be some kind of access ticket to media content
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "ControlPanel" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\cmd32.exe*".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\oamdbi.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Common Files\svchostsys\svchostsys.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\dwdsregt.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "uninstall.exe".
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx".
  • A file with an unknown location named "MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\cmd32.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\usb.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\lpt.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\ir.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\intffdsronsad.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\intfsdffdsronsad.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\intronsad.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "cmd32.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "1.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "2.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "3.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "4.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "5.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "6.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "7.dat".
  • A file with an unknown location named "MediaTicketsInstaller.cab".
  • A file with an unknown location named "MediaTicketsInstaller.cab".
  • A file with an unknown location named "MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx".
  • A file with an unknown location named "MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If MediaTickets uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "MEDIATICKETSINSTALLER.MediaTicketsInstallerCtrl.1", plus associated values.
  • References to the file "<$WINDIR>/Downloaded Program Files/MediaTicketsInstaller.ocx" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
  • Delete the registry key "{39DA2444-065F-47CB-B27C-CCB1A39C06B7}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{9EB320CE-BE1D-4304-A081-4B4665414BEF}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{3E4C3E0B-6BBE-4C94-86CA-6F055A989693}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{81EB72D7-3949-450F-B035-DE599959814F}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{46605C8C-D306-4E2D-B367-9B53690CB867}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
If MediaTickets uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
