Default Ask Toolbar Adware or not?

Hi everyone I've been wandering about this for awhile. I've heard that the Ask Toolbar included in Comodo Internet Security with Safe Surf is adware. Is this correct or not? On help2go.com the detective which scans hijackthis logs for suspicous entries says it is, but I'm not sure as why would it be included with comodo internet security? Also if it is adware what is the threat level? Is it safe to use? I've said something about this on the comodo forum but they never said anything just directed conversation something else I wrote.

Its showing up in more and more software. you can probably chose not to install the toolbar during the install process. Most likely its 'policy' is spelled out in the EULA during the install. Its had a questionable past. You decide.
